Psychological therapy sessions from the comfort and safety of your own home

The world changed with the Covid 19 pandemic.  Many people realised we could work effectively from home, clinical psychologists included.  It was fascinating to see how things adjusted so quickly.  Clients found having therapy sessions online had many benefits.

Online psychology and therapy sessions from the comfort and safety of your own home. If you are struggling with managing your mood, emotions or with the impact of past trauma, contact Dr Emma Arora today.

Suddenly therapy was more accessible and available in a safe place.  Particularly for people who have been through trauma and often feel under threat, or who struggle with anxiety there are benefits.

  • Feeling safe and comfortable in your own home, reducing feelings of anxiety and making it easier to engage in sessions.

  • No time and costs involved in travelling to and from sessions.

  • More flexibility, people can book a therapy session before or after work or even during their lunch break.

Since Covid there has been further research into this area.  The results are promising indicating psychological therapies including CBT and trauma focused approaches such as EMDR can be provided effectively and safely remotely.

Of course, there are considerations when thinking about whether this is the right way of working for you.  A good internet connection is essential and a quiet space within your home which is free of distractions.  There might be some adaptations needed, which you can discuss in your assessment.  As with in person therapy a large part of the work will involve what you do between sessions.  Building social connections and support outside of therapy and the home is crucial.

Contact Dr Emma if you have further questions and to discuss further if remote therapy is right for you.
